Sharon's Priorities

No income tax. No sales tax. Sharon has spent her career holding the line against broad-based taxes and fighting schemes that would raise costs on Granite State families. As Senate President, she has led the fight against proposals for a statewide income tax and higher property taxes. Her answer is simple: No.

Sharon will oppose the efforts of leading Democrats who stood on the State House steps advocating for a 3% income tax and a new state homeowner tax on top of local property taxes. As if an income tax were not bad enough, the proposed homeowner tax would increase property taxes by $1,800 to $2,000 on an average home.

New Hampshire has sent millions in state property tax relief to local towns. Yet local spending has grown out of control, swallowing up those dollars before they reach homeowners.

Sharon supported HB 1300, which puts a ballot question before voters this November giving communities the chance to cap their property taxes.

Sharon believes state government should live within its means, just like New Hampshire families do. She has championed balanced budgets, lower regulations, and fiscally sound government that keeps New Hampshire one of the freest and most prosperous states in the nation.

From supporting parental rights in education to leading the effort to reform and strengthen New Hampshire's child protection system — including her legislation to make the Division for Children, Youth and Families a stand-alone department — Sharon puts New Hampshire families first.

As a retired Army Reserve Sergeant First Class with 17 years of service, Sharon has been a consistent voice for New Hampshire's veterans, including her service on the State Veterans Advisory Committee.

Auburn. Hudson. Londonderry. Sharon has represented these communities for over two decades and remains deeply rooted in them — from local planning boards to community organizations. She knows the district because she lives it.
