Sharon Carson Files for State Senate Seat

Yesterday, four-term Republican State Representative Sharon Carson filed candidacy papers to run for the Senate District 14 seat currently held by Senator Bob Clegg. Clegg is running for the 2nd Congressional District seat and has endorsed Carson in her bid. District 14 covers Londonderry, Hudson and Auburn.

“It has truly been an honor to represent the citizens of Londonderry and Auburn as a State Representative. I have always fought for lower taxes and spending and will continue to do so in the Senate. At a time when our state is facing serious economic challenges, I will always be a strong voice for fiscal conservatism,” said Carson.

During her eight years in the House, Representative Carson has served House Education, Labor, Ways and Means and the Joint Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules. She has also served in House leadershipas a majority caucus whip and committee whip. She currently serves as the senior republican policy advisor on education.

Carson is the assistant secretary of the State Republican Party, the area 3 vice chair of the Rockingham County Republican Committee and serves on the Board of Governors for the Vesta Roy Women in Government series. She also represents the town of Londonderry on the Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission and is a member of Londonderry’s Old Home Day committee.

Carson has been campaigning across the district since she officially announced her candidacy in February. She recently held her first campaign fundraiser and rally.

Representative Carson lives in Londonderry with her husband Greg and daughters Alicia and Deirdre.
