Senator Carson Host Alvrine Seniors and Senate Pages

Sarah Jasper and Alex Tucci get front row seats for Session Day

CONCORD – Sen. Sharon Carson, R-Londonderry, welcomed two Alvrine High School seniors to the Senate Chamber on Thursday. Sarah Jasper and Alex Tucci, both of Hudson, served as pages on Session Day which afforded them a front row seat on the legislative process. The students were kept particularly busy assisting with floor amendments.

Commenting on the opportunity students have to serve as pages, Carson said, “Throughout the year, we have young people from all across the state participate in our Page Program so you can imagine how happy I was to host two students from my district. Sarah and Alex are both really interested in politics so I think they truly enjoyed watching how the Senate goes about conducting its business on the floor by debating bills, then either voting on them, tabling them or sending them back for further study. I think a day with the Senate is a great civics lesson
